Welcome back to our second blog post on different types of learners! As we indulge ourselves in the ideas of Super Heroes mirroring our own students in school, remember that we are all different and even change as we grow older! So while you may have a preference for a certain type of class or learning right now, that may change in the future. Today, we will dive into the world of reading/writing learners. Reading/Writing Learners stand out as patient students that carve out their own distinct paths within novels and books. These individuals thrive on the written word, finding solace and strength in text-based information. They excel in environments where reading and writing form the cornerstone of learning, and they have a unique ability to transform complex ideas into easily understood text.

In the Community | PA Virtual Grads-Where are They Now? | Super Student
Holly Workman is no stranger to performing under the bright lights. The 2012 PA Virtual graduate has been performing and studying music since age 4, and it is not an exaggeration to say she is Internationally known. But Holly returned to her roots recently to perform with the Hershey Symphony Festival Strings. Her performance on April 28th marked the first time she played locally in almost a year, and she wowed the crowd with a solo version of "Summer" from Vivaldi's The Four Seasons.

Sawyer Wright of Pittsburgh is headed into 4th grade at PA Virtual this Fall and has been bitten by the robot bug. His love of creation and competition led the Wright family on a trip to Gastonia, North Carolina this June to compete in the Clash of Bots 2017, held at The Scheile Museum of Natural History. Sawyer and his robot, MUGGA JUNK, were prepared to battle, not knowing he was going to be one of the youngest competitors in the ring. Sawyer was the only competitor under the age of 18 at the event.

Daniel Pfeiffer was born with a rare craniofacial condition that required six major skull reconstructive surgeries. In addition to physical disabilities, Daniel was also diagnosed with a number of developmental learning disabilities, which made a traditional brick and mortar school environment nearly impossible.

Congratulations to three PA Virtual Students whose creative talent has been recognized by the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards! Nationally, the Arts & Writing Awards receive about 300,000 submissions, and this year over 1,000 students submitted their original work.
