As the summer sun sets and we look ahead to a brand new school year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the exciting adventures we shared during the 2025 PA Virtual Summer Camp! This year marked the 6th annual PA Virtual Summer Camp, and it was our biggest and most exciting one yet! This year, students from across Pennsylvania participated in six fun-filled weeks of hands-on, themed activities, all from the comfort of home.
With imaginative crafts, engaging experiments, and creative projects, each week offered new ways to learn and connect. Thank you to our students and families for making this summer unforgettable!
Let’s take a look at what we explored together:
Week 1: Masterpiece Makers – Art Week (June 16–20)
We kicked off summer with creativity! Campers learned about famous artists and explored a variety of art techniques, from Picasso-style portraits to Van Gogh-inspired pop-up flowers. They experimented with tree weaving and all-elements art projects, celebrating self-expression and design. The week ended with colorful, imaginative masterpieces that truly showed off our students' talents!
Week 2: Mad Scientist Academy (June 23–27)
Campers became junior scientists during this exciting, hands-on STEM week! They built liquid density towers, explored color separation with chromatography, and experimented with kitchen chemistry. Highlights included making a solar oven to toast s’mores and growing cool crystals, it was all about curiosity, discovery, and science in action!
Week 3: Gold Rush Treasure Hunters (June 30–July 3)
This week was a treasure trove of creativity and adventure! Students made sail cork boats, designed their own ocean in a bottle, built catapults, and even cleaned gold coins using everyday materials. These engineering and exploration activities inspired teamwork, critical thinking, and a little historical imagination!
Week 4: Jurassic Journey / Dino Discovery Camp (July 7–11)
Campers traveled back in time to the land of the dinosaurs! Activities included fossil-making, Dino pen stands, and even a cookie excavation. They also got crafty with paper plate Dinosaurs and enjoyed a Dino-themed snack that was as delicious as it was creative. This week was a roaring good time for all!
Week 5: Aussie Adventure – Welcome to the Outback! (July 14–18)
We went down under for a week full of Australian-themed activities! Campers created salt dough coral reefs, painted their own didgeridoos, and crafted aboriginal dot art. They also built koala habitats and kangaroo pouches, learning about wildlife and culture from the land of Australia.
Week 6: Global Explorers (July 21–25)
Our final week of camp took students on a journey around the world! Campers made paper drums, luggage tags, mini koi windsocks, and more. They explored world cultures through music, food, and art—including a Monet-inspired art project and pyramid crafts. It was the perfect send-off for a summer full of learning and creativity.
