Local PA Virtual Charter School students who took part in a Dec. 11 “Cupcake Wars” competition were able to meet fellow students in person and compete virtually with others around the state.
“It gives them an opportunity to meet and be social,” said Amy Markle, family support coordinator with the school.
About 40 students in kindergarten through 12th grade came to the school's western regional office in Monroeville to decorate cupcakes with the theme “winter.” Students had marshmallows, candy and icing to use in their creations.
