Tobyhanna teen Isaiah Webb, 15, squeezed his eyes as he steered a small needle through several layers of fabric, in a labor of love for the needy.
Sitting next to Webb, Ray Treible, 72, of Stroudsburg, carefully added stitches through the large potpourri of scraps, binding the layers to each other to create ugly quilts.
But of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
